The windmill (in Afrikaans “windpomp”) reminds one of the solitary seclusion synonymous with this region.

Fynbos is the indigenous vegetation found in the Western Cape Region of South Africa. Confined to Table Mountain only, there is an estimated 2,200 species of plants, more than what exists in the whole of the United Kingdom. The view of Table mountain and surrounding mountains are undoubtedly “…vol fynbos”.
